Human Rights: Every human should be born with certain rights that can not be taken away despite their culture, race, and gender. Jim Crow Laws in the South: In the US southern states racial segregation and discrimination of African Americans without slavery can be traced back to the early 1800's. Laws were set in place in the late 19th century by the white controlled government in the US South called "Jim Crow Laws" which stated the necessary segregation of all blacks from whites. Though through change and time in the United States, African Americans gained more rights but we're still treated inferior to other races, especially white Americans. Although discrimination of African Americans in the 1900's was still prominent in the Northern States the South had the highest level of segregation. The Jim Crow Laws were an invasion of basic Human Rights that were seen by many but only solved by few. |
