Lasting Legacy of J.C.L.
"History repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce."
~Karl Marx All through time people will make mistakes and repeat a bad decision that at least one other person has made. Today the same mistake repeats as it did since the beginning of time. People will always judge one another rather it is because of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or anything that makes someone different from themselves. Segregation of African American in the US still teaches us today that when someone is different that instead of following the opinion of the majority, stand up. During the discrimination of African Americans it took many people and a lot of time for them to finally receive the basic human rights that they should have been born into. If those people that took a stand didn't exist then the hate would continue on and some of the greats who changed the world would have never gotten the chance to do so. Take a chance and be a part of the unpopular opinion because one day you might be the one who changes the world. It only takes one. "I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." |
